Snakes, spiders and lizards (oh my!)

Today we went to the Reptile Museum in Monroe, WA with Carson's preschool group. Needless to say it was a huge hit with the boys. There was no hesitation with either of them when it was their turn to hold the snakes. I on the other hand was a little nervous seeing those snakes hugging my babies’ necks just a little too snugly for my liking. Even the sign which read "All of our poisonous snakes have been surgically devenomized" didn't make me any more comfortable. But because the boys were thoroughly enjoying playing reptile man for the morning I did my best to hide my fears and encourage them to hold and touch all they wanted. . . and then promptly broke out the Purell hand sanitizer.

As he's sitting next to the big snake-in-the-glass, Spencer's got that glazed look in his eyes...it's the blankey look, the tomato and asparagus look, the "I wuv dis so much" look...oh my... I had one child who wanted a snake until...well, he may still not be over his snake cravings...but instead has 1 tarantula, 2 turtles, and 1 happy wife living in his house. Happy wives are much cuddlier than snakes.
