Deep Thoughts

The following conversation truly (like I could make this up!) took place while Carson was sitting on the bathroom counter brushing his teeth.

C: Mom, how do you make dreams come true?

M: Well, what kind of dreams do you want to come true?

C: Not the scary ones. What about the happpy the ones?

M: In the mornings when you wake up you can tell me what your dream was about and we can TRY to make it come true. Like if you have a dream about going camping, then maybe we can plan a camping trip.

C: (thinking for a minute not really buying my suggestion) I have a better idea, I think we need Jesus to help.

M: Like saying a prayer?

C: No, we need a box, a really big box and we can put the dream in the box and mail it to Jesus and he can make my dreams come true.

M: Oh yeah what kind of dream would you send to Jesus?

C: (Without hesitation) The one where everyday is my birthday!

Yes, dear insightful 4 year old of mine, It is through the help of Jesus that all our "dreams" do come true. . . we'll talk about the whole sending it in a box and USPS limitations later!

Your little boys are funny. It's amazing what kids think and say. Sometimes all I can do is laugh, because I don't know what to say in response to one of their silly questions. They are fun! Congrats to Nick for running a 5K. I ran one on the 4th as well. I'm still out of shape. My goal was to run the whole way, no walking. I met my goal. Hop all is well. I'm trying to talk Adam into coming up in September for a visit. He keeps complaining about gas prices. I'll keep working on him. Hope to see you soon! JAmi

Great fun to see all the pictures and to hear about the dream box to Jesus. From the mouths of babes... What if we could box them to auction off at a sunny picnic and someone you love would buy your box...like the NKOTB or Davy Jones from The Monkees or David Cassidy from The Partridge Family or your handsom husband? What if you opened the box and decided you didn't like it and you could return it for a better one? What if we could box them up and store them like we do stuff in our garage and take them out from time to time and play with them and they'd still be good and not moldy? Hmmmm, I'm liking the dream box concept more and more....

Oh my . . . what a big spirit in such a little body! Carson never ceases to amaze me with his sensitivity for spiritual things. I think we'll see him in 14 years going as the first prosyleting missionary to China!
